A marathi person in mumbai thinks that hindi is must to if you want to stay in mumbai. Marathi person also think he/she has to speak in Hindi with any unknown person. It does not matter if the mumbai is the capital of maharashtra. I always wonder what could be the main reason behind it. The most important reason for this that everyone in Maharashtra is being told that Hindi is our national language. Even very educated persons also think that Hindi is a national language. But it can be very easily verify that even Marathi along with so many languages is a national language. How can we change this situation. Why do we give so much importance to Hindi and ignore Marathi? Why don't we tell the outsiders to learn marathi, if they want to stay in Maharashtra?
